The Hot Club of Montevideo is a Uruguayan cultural institution founded in 1950 by the pianist Paco Mañosa, along with his brother and some friends who played together. It was the first club dedicated exclusively to jazz in Latin America.

The year is 1984. Estela is going through the turbulent phase of adolescence. Sex, lovers, friendships; everything seems very complicated. Her uncle Carlos is her hero, and visiting him in California is her biggest dream. But everything collapses when he returns thin, weak and ill. Between crises and discoveries, Estela will face a reality that will forever change her way of seeing the world.​

Andrius, a Lithuanian immigrant, comes to California seeking to reconnect with his older brother, only to realize that his brother's American dream isn't all that he had imagined.

Ferdinand is a long-standing employee at Fish Land, the aquatic centre within the globalised leisure complex "Worlds Apart". He's a small, bald forty year-old, and a solitary, anxious introvert, entirely devoted to his passion for fish. But Ferdinand's obsessive little existence is turned upside down the day Fish Land closes down for six months of renovation. He is transferred to another section of "Worlds Apart", the Finnish-Turkish Delight spa, entirely geared towards the pleasure of saunas and steam rooms. Ferdinand is suddenly thrown into a world of nudity, sensuality, relaxation and letting go... In short, everything he could possibly be afraid of! HOT HOT HOT is the belated journey of initiation of an inhibited little man, who slowly but surely learns to open up to the pleasures of life. It paints a colourful yet sensitive picture of a world caught between artificiality and authenticity, between norm and peculiarity.

Young real estate agent Clara Morales encouraged risky loans to her clients during the housing boom. She must now rescue her father’s home from foreclosure - a consequence of the loan she advised him to take.

Halstead forces the Land Agent to alter the records and then kicks the Mexicans off their land. Buck has been sent to investigate and quickly joins up with Juan Cantova in the fight against Halstead. To keep Buck from seeing the records, Halstead has the Agent murdered. His men then claim Juan killed him and both Buck and Juan then find themselves wanted dead or alive.
